The Grand Lady
Austin, TX
The Grand Lady is a secluded venue in the Texas Hill Country. It blends the comforts of home with the elegance of a modern, architecturally inspired reception hall. The property features fields dense with Live Oaks and their own fresh cut flower garden. Core to their mission is the reduction of impact of flower imports on our environment.
Emily and Sean immensely enjoy hosting at their house in Boston, Massachusetts. When touring The Grand Lady, they felt like it was the perfect venue for an elevated dinner party that harkens to a night at their place. They hope you too will feel right at home.

Outdoor enthusiasts can enjoy an afternoon at Zilker Park and a stroll around Lady Bird Lake. The lakeside trail is frequented by Austinites and their dogs all season. Cool off by renting kayaks or paddleboards on the lake or stop in at Barton Springs for a brisk swim.
If an excursion is up your ally, the wildflowers at The Lady Bird Johnson Wildflower Center will be mid-season at the start of April. If we’re lucky we’ll catch the tail of Bluebonnet season, the Texas State Flower. -
We can’t pretend to know every great place to grab a bite in Austin. It has changed a lot this last decade.
Sean and Emily both love Fresa’s Chicken (thanks Courtney <3) for delicious wood-grilled meats and bright agave cocktails. For a classic Austin brunch, you can’t go wrong with Kerbey Lane Cafe. Make sure you go early - it’s a favorite for a lot of folks! When it’s time to beat the heat, check out Sno Beach. Emily says that you have to go out on a limb and try it “with cream”. Trust her. -
Austin has a funky culture full of art and “yee haw”. We highly recommend checking out the ACL Live studio, the home of PBS’s long running concert series. For inspired architecture paired with modern art we recommend The Blanton. Check out their new pavilion installation.
Austin is also known for it vibrant nightlife. Check out The Broken Spoke for a classic country dance hall. Exploring 6th Street or Rainey street give you bar after bar featuring an number of themes or live music stages. Be sure to hydrate and have fun.
